Vivier GrenzCine: Which One Do You Need

Growth factors and firmness · Vivier

Vivier GrenzCine is a four-product family built around one ingredient, Polyamine-DAB, which Vivier describes as its growth factor technology. GrenzCine Serum ($348) is the concentrate with 10% vitamin C. GrenzCine Face ($292) is the moisturizer. GrenzCine Neck ($300) and GrenzCine Eye ($222) are the targeted versions for skin that is thinner and shows laxity first. Here is what each one does, how they differ, which to buy first, and the order to use them in.

Quick answers

What is GrenzCine?
Vivier's growth factor range. Every GrenzCine product carries Polyamine-DAB, Vivier's proprietary polyamine growth factor, paired with vitamin C. The line is positioned for the look of volume loss, thinning skin and lost firmness.
Which GrenzCine should I start with?
GrenzCine Serum if you want one product for the whole face, neck and chest. GrenzCine Face if you would rather fold the growth factor step into your moisturizer and keep a vitamin C serum you already like.
Serum or Face: do I need both?
No. The Serum is the concentrate, the Face cream is the moisturizer. Using both is the full routine, but either one on its own is a complete growth factor step.
Can I use GrenzCine with retinol?
Yes. Vivier places GrenzCine in the same routine as its retinols. GrenzCine goes on first, the retinol after, at night. GrenzCine Neck already carries retinol among its renewal complexes, so skip a separate retinol on the neck.
Morning or night?
All four are directed once or twice daily. Serum and Face work well in the morning under sunscreen because of the vitamin C, and again at night.
Is GrenzCine for mature skin only?
Vivier recommends it for all skin types, but the concerns it is built for, volume, density and firmness, are the ones that show from the forties onward. If your concern is tone or early fine lines, a Vivier vitamin C serum is the better starting point.

What Polyamine-DAB is

Most growth factor serums on the market are built on growth factors harvested from cultured cells. Vivier took a different route. Polyamine-DAB is the brand's proprietary polyamine, and Vivier describes it as working with the skin's own growth factors and cells so that they behave more efficiently. The practical difference is that it is a defined molecule rather than a cell-derived blend, which is why Vivier can put it into a cream, an eye product and a neck product at a consistent level, not only into a serum.

Every GrenzCine product pairs Polyamine-DAB with vitamin C. In the Serum that is 10% L-ascorbic acid, the same form Vivier uses across its vitamin C range. In the Face, Neck and Eye products the vitamin C sits alongside what Vivier calls renewal complexes, a group of supporting ingredients that differ by product. That is the whole architecture of the line: one growth factor, one antioxidant, and a delivery format matched to the area.

The short version. GrenzCine is Vivier's answer to volume and firmness, the concerns a vitamin C serum alone does not address. If your main concern is tone and radiance, start with a Vivier vitamin C serum. If your concern is that skin looks thinner and less firm than it did, GrenzCine is the range built for it.

The four GrenzCine products

Vivier GrenzCine Serum

GrenzCine Serum

The concentrate · face, neck, chest, hands
$348 · 30 ml

GrenzCine Serum is the product the rest of the line grew out of. Vivier formulates it with 10% L-ascorbic acid and Polyamine-DAB, and positions it for the look of volume, density, firmness and elasticity. It is a serum in the true sense: light, fast to absorb, and applied under whatever moisturizer you already use.

  • Polyamine-DAB growth factor with 10% vitamin C
  • Directions: 2 to 3 drops to clean, dry skin, once or twice daily
  • Can be taken down the neck and chest and over the backs of the hands
  • Suitable for normal, dry, oily and combination skin

Vivier GrenzCine Face

GrenzCine Face

The moisturizer · all skin types
$292 · 55 ml

GrenzCine Face is the same growth factor in a cream, with vitamin C and squalane for hydration. Vivier positions it for the appearance of wrinkles and advanced signs of aging, and for a more lifted look. It replaces your moisturizer rather than adding a step, which is why many people start here.

  • Polyamine-DAB, vitamin C and squalane in an airless pump
  • Directions: 1 to 2 pumps in an upward motion, avoiding the eye area, twice daily
  • Fragrance-free, alcohol-free, paraben-free and vegan

Vivier GrenzCine Neck

GrenzCine Neck

Neck, décolleté and jawline
$300 · 55 ml

GrenzCine Neck is the targeted cream for the one area a face product rarely reaches properly. Vivier formulates it with Polyamine-DAB, vitamin C and six renewal complexes, one of which is retinol, for the look of crepiness, texture and firmness on the neck. It is the only GrenzCine product that carries retinol, which matters for how you place it in a routine.

  • Polyamine-DAB, vitamin C and six renewal complexes including retinol
  • Directions: 1 to 2 pumps on the neck, décolleté and jawline, once or twice daily
  • Fragrance-free, paraben-free and vegan

Vivier GrenzCine Eye

GrenzCine Eye

Eye area · volume and crow's feet
$222 · 15 ml

GrenzCine Eye takes the same growth factor and vitamin C pairing and adds squalane, sodium hyaluronate and two peptides for the thinner skin around the eyes. Vivier positions it for the look of volume loss, fine lines and crow's feet, with hydration for a brighter, more rested look.

  • Polyamine-DAB, vitamin C, squalane, sodium hyaluronate and peptides
  • Directions: 1 pump with the ring finger around the eye area, twice daily, before serums
  • Fragrance-free, paraben-free and vegan

All four are directed for all skin types and formulated without fragrance or parabens. The Face, Neck and Eye products use airless pump packaging, which keeps the vitamin C away from air between uses.

Which one to buy first

The question most people are really asking is whether they need the Serum or the Face cream, because both are built on the same two ingredients and both are a significant purchase. The honest answer is that they are the same step in two formats, and the right one depends on what is already in your routine.

Start here
Your situation Buy Why
You already use a moisturizer you like and want to add the growth factor step GrenzCine Serum It goes under any moisturizer, and it carries the 10% vitamin C, so it can also replace a separate vitamin C serum
You already use a vitamin C serum and your moisturizer is the open slot GrenzCine Face Adds the growth factor without adding a step. Keep your serum underneath it
The neck shows laxity before the face does GrenzCine Neck The only one formulated for neck skin, with retinol built in
Hollowing or crepiness around the eyes is the main concern GrenzCine Eye Made for the thinnest skin on the face, with peptides and hyaluronate the others do not carry
You want the full routine Serum, then Face Serum first, cream over it. Add Neck and Eye as the budget allows
Your concern is tone, dullness or early lines rather than firmness A Vivier vitamin C serum instead GrenzCine is built for volume and density. Serum 10, C E Peptides or Kine-C answers tone at a lower price

The order to use them in

Vivier's rule across its range is thin before thick, and eye products before serums. With the full GrenzCine routine that gives you:

  1. Cleanse. Any Vivier cleanser works; HEXAM is the gentle default.
  2. GrenzCine Eye, one pump with the ring finger, around the eye area. Vivier directs it before serums.
  3. GrenzCine Serum, 2 to 3 drops over the face, taken down the neck and chest if you are not using the Neck product.
  4. GrenzCine Face, 1 to 2 pumps as your moisturizer, avoiding the eye area.
  5. GrenzCine Neck, 1 to 2 pumps on the neck, décolleté and jawline.
  6. Morning only: broad-spectrum sunscreen over the face and neck. Vivier Sheer SPF 45 sits well over the Face cream.
  7. Night only: your retinol, if you use one, after the Serum and before the Face cream. Skip it on the neck, since GrenzCine Neck already carries retinol.

If that is more steps than you want, the two-product version is Serum in the morning under your usual moisturizer and sunscreen, and Face at night over a retinol. That covers the growth factor step twice a day with nothing else to buy.

GrenzCine with retinol and vitamin C

Vivier places GrenzCine in the same routine as its retinols rather than instead of them, and the two do different jobs. Retinol works on texture, tone and lines through renewal over months. GrenzCine works on the look of volume and firmness by a different route. If you already use Vivier Retinol 0.5% or Retinol 1.0% at night, GrenzCine Serum goes on first, the retinol next, GrenzCine Face over both. The one exception is the neck: GrenzCine Neck already carries retinol among its renewal complexes, so a separate retinol there is not needed and can tip sensitive neck skin into dryness.

On vitamin C, GrenzCine Serum is a 10% L-ascorbic acid serum in its own right, the same strength as Vivier's Serum 10. If you buy the Serum you do not need a second vitamin C in the morning. If you buy only the Face cream, keep your existing vitamin C serum underneath it. Our Vivier routine for beginners shows where the four core steps sit, and the Vivier programs guide covers the kits if you would rather buy a routine in one box. For the neck specifically, Skinbetter Science takes a peptide route with Techno Neck; our Techno Neck guide is the sibling post if you want to compare approaches.

Frequently asked questions

What is Vivier GrenzCine?

Vivier GrenzCine is a four-product growth factor range: GrenzCine Serum, GrenzCine Face, GrenzCine Neck and GrenzCine Eye. Every GrenzCine product is built on Polyamine-DAB, Vivier's proprietary polyamine growth factor, paired with vitamin C, and the range is positioned for the look of volume loss, thinning skin and lost firmness.

What is the difference between GrenzCine Serum and GrenzCine Face?

GrenzCine Serum is the concentrate: Polyamine-DAB with 10% L-ascorbic acid, applied as 2 to 3 drops under a moisturizer. GrenzCine Face is the moisturizer: Polyamine-DAB with vitamin C and squalane in an airless pump cream. They are the same growth factor step in two formats, and either one alone is a complete step.

Do I need both GrenzCine Serum and GrenzCine Face?

No. GrenzCine Serum and GrenzCine Face can be used together for the full routine, Serum first and Face over it, but one is enough. Choose the Serum if you want to keep your current moisturizer, and the Face cream if you want to keep your current vitamin C serum.

Can I use GrenzCine with retinol?

Yes. Vivier places GrenzCine in the same routine as its retinols. At night, apply GrenzCine Serum first, the retinol next, and GrenzCine Face over both. Do not add a separate retinol on the neck, because GrenzCine Neck already contains retinol among its six renewal complexes.

Does GrenzCine Serum replace a vitamin C serum?

Yes. GrenzCine Serum contains 10% L-ascorbic acid, the same strength as Vivier Serum 10, so it covers the morning vitamin C step on its own. GrenzCine Face also contains vitamin C but as a cream, so if you use only the Face cream, keep a vitamin C serum underneath it.

Is GrenzCine Neck different from GrenzCine Face?

Yes. GrenzCine Neck is formulated for the thinner, drier skin of the neck and décolleté, and it is the only GrenzCine product that includes retinol among its renewal complexes. GrenzCine Face is a facial moisturizer with squalane and no retinol. Vivier directs GrenzCine Neck on the neck, décolleté and jawline only.

When should I apply GrenzCine Eye?

Vivier directs GrenzCine Eye as one pump, applied with the ring finger around the eye area, twice daily, and before vitamin C serums. In a full routine that makes it the first product after cleansing, ahead of GrenzCine Serum.

Who is GrenzCine for?

Vivier recommends GrenzCine for all skin types, and the concerns it addresses, the look of volume, density and firmness, are the ones that typically show from the forties onward. If your concern is tone, dullness or early fine lines, a Vivier vitamin C serum such as Serum 10 or C E Peptides is the better starting point at a lower price.

Where can I buy Vivier GrenzCine in Canada?
