What Alastin is
Alastin Skincare launched in 2015 and is now a Galderma company. It sits in the physician-dispensed category, which means it was built for and sold through clinics, dermatology practices and medical spas rather than department stores. Galderma took over direct distribution in Canada in October 2023.
That origin shapes the range. A large part of the line is designed around what happens before and after a cosmetic procedure: lasers, microneedling, peels, injectables, body contouring. The rest is a conventional daily anti-aging routine that uses the same core technology.
TriHex and TriHex+, explained
TriHex Technology is Alastin's proprietary blend of peptides and botanicals. In the brand's own framing it works in three stages: remove, where tripeptide-1 and hexapeptide-12 help clear out aged and damaged collagen and elastin proteins, rebuild, where the skin is supported in producing healthy new ones, and replenish, which is what continued daily use maintains.
In April 2025 Alastin introduced a next-generation version, TriHex+, which appears first in Restorative Skin Complex. Two things are new:
- Octapeptide-45, a patent-pending peptide that Alastin says amplifies the collagen and elastin work of the original blend, aimed at the look of fine lines, radiance and plumpness. It also appears in HA Immerse.
- Magnolol, which Alastin reports helps support the body's natural production of healthy facial fat, with the goal of restoring the look of facial volume.
Restorative Skin Complex also carries niacinamide for the appearance of uneven tone. Alastin ran a 12-week multi-centre study on the next-generation formula in 2024 and reports improvements across elasticity, roughness, hydration and radiance. That study was open-label, funded by Alastin, and ran with 44 participants and no control group, so treat the numbers as the brand's own reported findings rather than independent proof.
Original TriHex is not going away. Most of the line still uses it, including the eye, neck, body and moisturizer products. TriHex+ is currently the Restorative Skin Complex and HA Immerse story, not a whole-line reformulation.

Neck, eyes and body
Restorative Eye Treatment is one pump around the eye morning and evening, under the brow bone and under the eye, kept off the eyelid and lash line. It carries green tea and oak leaf extracts for the look of dark circles, and niacinamide with tetrapeptide-30 for tone. Restorative Neck Complex is one pump to the neck and chest in upward strokes, morning and evening, with phytoene and phytofluene and flax seed extract alongside TriHex. TransFORM Body Treatment is two to three pumps to the target area morning and evening, aimed at the look of crepey skin and laxity on arms, knees and abdomen, and often used alongside body contouring procedures.
Building a routine
A full Alastin routine, in order. You do not need every step, but the sequence matters where products overlap.
- Cleanse. Gentle Cleanser for normal to oily skin, Ultra Calm Cleansing Cream for sensitive or post-treatment skin.
- HA Immerse, if you use it. This is the one serum that goes first, before everything else.
- Treatment serum. Restorative Skin Complex morning and evening. C-Radical Defense or A-LUMINATE can sit here too.
- Eye treatment. One pump around the orbital bone.
- Moisturize. Ultra Nourishing or Ultra Light. Neck Complex to the neck and chest.
- Sunscreen, every morning. HydraTint or SilkSHIELD, reapplied through the day.
- Evening only, if you use it: Renewal Retinol in place of your other evening treatment serum while you build tolerance.
Do not start everything at once. Add Restorative Skin Complex first and give it a few weeks. If you are introducing Renewal Retinol, add that on its own too, two to three nights a week, and expect some adjustment. Layering a new retinol on top of a new brightening serum in the same week is how people end up irritated and blaming the wrong product.
